I really struggled with the background on this one. I must have erased and recolored it 4 times and I still don't like how it turned out. I think lack of planning was one of the problems, plus the fact that I'm still learning how to handle colored pencil. I would have abandoned this one altogether except that my cute grandson was staring back at me, grinning. This was done on beige paper.

I think it turned out great. What's the reason for using beige paper?
Sometimes it is nice to have some of the colors already on the paper. It's a new technique I'm learning. Sometimes I like it, sometimes it doesn't work out.
